FAN HIR & LLYN Y FAN FAWR
This is a seven mile circular walk which follows the towering ridge of Fan Hir before taking us to the shores of Llyn Y Fan Fawr, one of a pair of lakes in the area which is steeped in myth and legend. Terrain covered includes grassy paths and open moorland.
There are no facilities along the route, there are toilets near Craig Y Nos and the Penycae Inn and Ancient Britton pubs are nearby.
This area of the Beacons is home to many common varieties of birds, wildflowers, mosses and fungi.
The terrain is generally good underfoot, walking shoes or hiking boots are recommended.
