This is a four and a half mile circular walk on North Gower which starts and ends at the pretty little village of Llanmadoc, our route takes us along the edge of the salt marsh towards the cast iron lighthouse at Whitford Point and through the idyllic Cwm Ivy Wood. The terrain covered includes limestone grassland, salt marsh paths, sandy paths and woodland.
There is a pub, community shop and cafe in Llanmadoc village, there are toilets in the pub. There are no other facilities along the route.
We can expect to see Gower salt marsh lambs, wild ponies and a wealth of sea birds. The walk also enters a nature reserve where we might see yellow flag iris and marsh mallow; and a broad leaf woodland where milkwort and wild thyme are known to grow.
